ABOUT ME

Dr. An Vu, DDS

Growing up as an immigrant, I saw a large demand for dental work in my low income community. Many people did not seek dental care until it was too late and the cost was too overwhelming. I became eager to help those who are in the most need, such as the financially disadvantaged or the medically complex patients. My dream came true in 2015 when UCLA School of Dentistry accepted me. Since then I have met and provided treatments to many of these patients. Serving them gives meaning to my career and my life. Being a dentist means that I can relieve pain, save teeth, and bring back happy smiles. Being a dentist with deep compassion means that I will never stop striving for excellent care.

Currently I am working at OSF St. Francis Medical Center as a dental resident. The GPR residency allows me to advance my techniques and knowledge, such as in pedodontics, oral surgeries, root canal therapy, infection and trauma treatments, and implant placement and restorations. Furthermore, at the hospital I have the chance to help the medically and dentally complex patients who face tremendous access barrier to dental care. Dreams do come true, indeed!

When I am not doing dentistry, I enjoy painting, cooking, eating with family then burning out calories at the gym.
